OK, I was wrong.  A couple of days ago, I posted how I was happily styling my mustache with no need for waxes.  Then, just as quickly as it really started to fill out and lengthen in the last week, the lower hairs decided to start a full assault on my mouth.

Attacking the Undergrowth

After yesterday's post, I decided to look at the undergrowth and see what I could do about it.  As you may recall, I was suffering from long hairs from underneath that did not want to play nicely with the other hairs which I documented in the picture below.

I am having fun with my new look and I like that it is getting attention.  Three times tonight my mustache became the topic of conversation.

Barbershop Visit

Today looked like the right day for a haircut and facial hair trim.  An area-wide Internet and cell phone service blackout meant that my other work would not get done, so off I went to the barbershop.

Not Sure that I Need to Wax Daily and Goatee Musings

For the last couple of days, I have not been using wax. I really find that my mustache hair is so wiry, that it holds its position pretty well without it. Even the couple of hairs that desire to hang down into my mouth can be finger-combed out of the way. Perhaps I will only need wax or another substance to style the tips and put in curls when the they are finally long enough to do so.

Midlife Crisis?

I can only imagine what my wife was going through.  Her husband was turning weird.  A while back he had that strange episode where he took her tape measure and said that he was measuring his mustache.  First he started changing his appearance – growing out his mustache.  Then she found the camera case in the bathroom – her husband was doing something strange.

So she came to the conclusion that made sense:  Her husband was suffering from midlife crisis.  He was not happy and wanted to start changing things.
