Not the type of mustache that I was expecting

When I started my mustache journey,  I was expecting a mustache that looks like this:

As I have narrow space between my nose and lips, and relatively thin facial hair this is the mustache that I thought that I could expect.

But instead after two and a half months into my journey, I believe that my destiny will probably be more like one of these guys:

Like them, I have wiry hair that leads to a large bushy mustache that extends out in front of my face in a 3-D fashion.  It will never be one that submits itself to tight thin curls or a neatly combed appearance.

While I am surprised, I am not complaining about the mustache that I have been given.  At its present state, mine is a compliment-generating machine.  The other day someone even described it as "incredible". Someone else said "really great".

Time will tell what it will ultimately look like and if it will get even better with age.  Or perhaps it will become a monster that looks odd.  A little length may also surprise me and completely change the appearance again.  In any event, I certainly have much more of a mustache than I ever expected and am definitely enjoying the journey.
